Earliest meeting: April 1901
Final meeting: Saturday 11th April 1914
The Scottish hamlet of Justinlees was near Annan in the Dumfries and Galloway region of Scotland. Although the Dumfries Racecourse held its final meeting on Wednesday 13th October 1847, within a year hunters and hounds were introduced into the area by Joe Graham.  It was 5 years later that the first race meeting organised by the Hunt Committee took place at Leafield on 8th April 1853, followed in order by Dalton, Lockerbie, Collin and Carnsalloch until 1899. As a consequence of the Boer War there was no meeting organised in 1900 and the meeting finally rested at Justinlees from 1901 until the meeting ceased in 1914. Racing was popular and well-supported at this venue, and that support continued through to the final meeting on Saturday 11th April 1914 when the feature of the meeting was the riding of Mr J Johnstone who won 3 of the races. The opening Annandale Hurdle was won by Belses for Mr E Vaux, while the principal United Hunt Cup went to Lady Hackler for Mr A J Ferguson. But for the outbreak of the First World War, it is likely that this meeting would have gone from strength to strength.
